The swimming team at Adelia María Athletic Club was born in the 70s because the Club was invited by the nearby clubs to participate in competitions. Professor Eladio Maffini formed and trained a small group of swimmers. Some years later it took part in the Swimming Córdoba Federation. During the 80s the number of swimmers increased, and it is worth mentioning Tomás and Martín Odetto, Germán Martinetto, Nicolás Cometto, Milena Cortez, Laura Peraferrer, Franco Razzeto, Diego González, Virginia Madrussan and Georgina Maffini, who were provincial champions and sub champions
In 1987 the team participated for the first time in The Pampas Provincial Tournament, in Victoria, where they obtained very good results
Since 1990 professor Daniel Zufiaurre has been training swimmers and has participated in too many competitions so as to improve the performance.
In the summer at Malvinas Argentinas Park, which belongs to Adelia María Athletic Club, municipal swimming is practised by most children between 6 and 12 years (who are not members), in the morning and in the afternoon the competition team is trained.
This team consists of fifty swimmers between 5 to 18 years of age and it participates in regional and provincial competitions.
Hector Bohórquez and Virginia Madrussan are in charge of the municipal swimming classes but Daniel Zufiaurre and Godofredo Diaz train the competitive swimming team and adults, as well.
