Sergio
Rolando is the most outstanding sportsman in Adelia María, who
began when he was 13 years old. In 1988 he obtained the First Argentinian
Championship in route in Mar del Plata and the record in 500 meters in
Bahía Blanca, B.A.
He participated in Argentinian, Pan-American and South American Championships
in Perú, World Championship in Colorado Spring, United States and
in the Olympic Games in 1992 in Barcelona, Spain. He also won important
prizes like Clarín Revelation ´92 and Silver Olympia´93.
He also participated in the World Championship in Sicily, Italy and in
the South American Games in Venezuela and Chile in 1994.
In June, 2000, he moved to New York, the United States, where he continued
cycling, since he worked at a well known bike shop in Manhattan, in Central
Park and he competed with professionals in different competitions, having
achieved the title of Champion from New York in 2003.
In 2005, he returned to Adelia María where he goes on practising
as a hobby as it is his passion. He trains other people but he is not
planning any competition. |
