Ricardo Quiroga Fuentes, was the only professional boxer in the 80s. In 1993 Carlos San Miguel, trainer and promoter of boxing, came to Adelia Maria and together with the Adelia María Athletic Club began with the organization of festivals, opening the season on 18th June, 1993, with the Argentinian and South American Box Championship, where Sergio Liendo participated.
Several years later Victor Lorca began to train José A. Clavero and Pablo " Bazzoka " Barbero who returned to the training.
On 9th August, 1996 Victor Lorca, Pablo Barbero and Jose Clavero were provincial champions.
Three years later a Festival in Adelia María Athletic Club was carried out, where José Clavero and Victor Lorca debuted. Then, in the Agrarian Juvenile Centre some boxing festivals were transmitted by cable to all the country, South America, Puerto Rico and the U.S.A. by "América Sport."
In 2003, Pablo Barbero travelled to the Niagara Falls in Cánada, to fight with the number one from that country, Chad Barisson and he was defeated.
José Clavero was Hispanic World Champion and Pablo Barbero was Transcontinental Champion.
In December 2004 Jose Clavero went to Sidney in Australia and competed with Sam Saliman. In June 2006 he returned to Brisbane, Australia to fight with Paul Briggs.
